I finally made it to Mexico! For years, I’d heard so much about the fun and beauty of Cabo San Lucas, so I was beyond excited to explore it for my sister’s birthday. And let me tell you, the hype is real—Cabo did not disappoint! I’m already looking forward to my next trip. If you’re thinking of going, here are my top tips!

Where to Stay:

We stayed at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, and I can honestly say that after this experience, I won’t be staying anywhere else. This resort has earned a spot in my top 10 all-time favorites. While it’s a Rosewood property, it’s also a Ty Warner property—and if you’re familiar with Ty Warner (the creator of Beanie Babies), you know his resorts are nothing short of exceptional. The service was absolutely flawless throughout our stay. Each guest is assigned a private butler who you can reach by text or call for anything you need. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were endless, and the pool was the perfect escape. As a special touch, they gift you a different heart-shaped ornament with each visit to commemorate your stay. This hotel is the ultimate in relaxation and luxury.

Where to Eat:

Since this was my first trip to Mexico, I was a bit hesitant to leave the resort property at first. However, by day three, the staff reassured us that it was very safe to take an Uber and explore nearby areas for dining. We decided to try dinner at The Thompson Hotel, which offered breathtaking views and impeccable service. We also dined at the Montage, another stunning property. The waters near the Montage are much calmer compared to those around Las Ventanas. Keep in mind, though, that these properties are about 30 minutes apart, so be sure to allow enough time to fully enjoy each spot.

Explore:

Las Ventanas is so stunning that you honestly might not even want to leave the resort, but I’d heard so many great things about the shopping in San José that I couldn’t resist checking it out. As you know, I’m a sucker for pottery and linens, and the San José area is known for these beautiful pieces. We spent an afternoon exploring the town and picked up a few fun treasures. Just a heads-up: there’s a lot of haggling in the area, and cash is king, so be sure to bring plenty with you.
